VSP-330r2 Voice Synth Plus Is Here!

G-Storm Plugins announces the release of VSP-330 version 2.0 Voice Synth Plus VST plugin and standalone version. The VSP-330 is a recreation of the rare and nearly extinct VP-330 string ensemble and human voice formant choirs. The emulation is made possible by synthesis and effects DSP techniques, not samples.   If you're ready for a plugin that brings you closer to the experience of a classic vintage dream synth, then wish no longer. And hear what you've been missing.

WHY THERE IS NO AU/RTAS VERSION FOR MAC
I use a Mac as well as PC.  The plugin was authored in Outsim SynthMaker on a PC.  According to their FAQ, Outsim are Windows PC guys and do not plan to support AU/RTAS development in the near future.  EDIT: of all the feedback I have gotten, VST wrappers do not appear to work with this plugin.

  1. Hi,
    It sounds very good :)
Would you consider porting it into the new third party plugin format in Reason Rack Extension ?
    Regards

  2. VSP-330 plugin formats are currently limited to what SynthMaker will allow right now. VSP-330 is available as a Standalone version that should be able to send audio to Reason via Rewire. Not the same thing as 'racking it up', but yet it should work.

  3. I have been playing with the beta wersion you sent me and I'm impressed. I have been running it side by side next to my own Roland Vp-330, I would like to make sergestion, the vocal sounds need to be a bit more middley and the strings at the lower end need a little more "oumph" (at touch more bass if you will), also the attack env does not trigger right when you go to a new note or chord, it just plays the note/notes without the attack.

    1. Thanks for your input. Beta testing was back in April and since then version 2.05 is the latest and the trial is available. Some of the bugs/features you bring up may have been fixed/added, others maybe not. I spent several weeks ironing out the choirs, and are as close as anyone could possibly get IMHO but yes nothing is going to ever be identical except the original.

  4. Also it would be nice if the vibrato could have a delay time slider. There is no need for the "8' Shift" it would be better if this was to become the original "Short-Long" Time knob instead.
Would you be able to add the "Auto/Manual" slide mode as well?.

    1. Delay lines have been coming with great CPU expense so I've put the vibrato delay on hold until I can find a way to bring CPU down first. 8' Shift is one of the best new features and isn't going anywhere. Auto/Manual didn't seem necessary since pitch slides can be automated (Mod Wheel) in the host, however there have been other requests for this feature. It may show up in future revisions.

  5. There is a noticeable "Thump" coming through the audio with each note played when you have a very short or no attack in the string section.
What would be a very nice addition the the original did not have would be to add 16' & 8'strings to both the Upper and Lower string section.

    1. I think the envelopes are better now in version 2.05. Hmmm I think you mean 8' string since it uses 4' string currently. It is something to think about, or maybe a plugin of the RS-505.

  6. Also the Upper 4' Female has a very low output (Volume), could you make it equal to the Upper 8' Female output/Vol. wise.
A nice addition for the voice section would be a balance control between the 8'& 4' Upper Voices and one for the lower Voices aswell.
Another addition that would be good would be if each section had it own 'Tone' control.
Just as a side note, I'm running r2.05 Trial. :)

  7. Beautiful! As you may remember the rev 1 was used on one track from my last album; rev 2 should see even more use on the next record! Thanks again for such a great creation.

  10. Hi there at G-storm,

the demos of your VP emulation are quite amazing. Love that old machine so much!!!
so, when the downloads are back, is there a single vst plugin version without installation (just drag the vst into plugin folder....)?
I'm on a Mac running Studio One/Presonus with vst support...

    shouts, Carsten
